One Disease coordinated a Healthy Skin Symposium in Nhulunbuy in August 2019. The symposium brought together health professionals across East Arnhem to discuss the strong history of skin health work and the desire to work collectively across the region towards scabies free zones. In attendance were Aboriginal Health Workers, Health Professionals, Infectious Disease Specialists and Environmental Health Workers. There was a critical mass of Yolgnu representatives from Laynhapuy, Galiwinku, Milingimbi, Gapuwiyak, Ramingining and Yirrkala. The Yolgnu in this region are proud of a strong history in skin health work and acknowledge the work in this area needs to be stepped up and old ways of working reignited.
