Women in Tropical Health Network – Breakfast Club

This Women in Tropical Health Network Breakfast Club will feature ‘On thin ice’ presented by Dr Jess Melbourne-Thomas.

Dr Jess Melbourne-Thomas is a marine, Antarctic and climate change scientist with CSIRO Oceans & Atmosphere in Hobart. She co-founded the Homeward Bound program, an initiative for women in science and leadership, which took the largest ever all-female expedition to Antarctica in 2016. Since then, there have been three further voyages South. Jess’ work is focused on connecting climate change and sustainability science to decision making. She was the Tasmanian Young Tall Poppy of the Year in 2015 and one of Australia’s first 30 Superstars of STEM in 2017. Jess was recently named the 2020 Tasmanian Australian of the Year.
